Celta Vigo are ‘positioning’ themselves to sign Liverpool’s Stefan Bajcetic on a season-long loan deal.

That’s according to Faro de Vigo, who say Liverpool are keen to loan out the youngster so he can get back on track after his injury issues.

The newspaper repots that Celta are ‘positioning’ themselves to secure Bajcetic on loan, with Liverpool wanting him to get minutes that aren’t available at Anfield.

The Reds, though, are demanding that Bajcetic play as a centre-back. They want to use the player in that position in future. That’s something Celta are yet to accept.

The Spanish side also haven’t moved because they need to focus on getting players out of their squad first. They’re specifically focused on getting rid of midfielders such as Luca de la Torre.

They don’t want to miss the opportunity to get the Liverpool man, and believe he is a player of great quality and they like that he is from the city and their youth academy.

The deal is there to be done, with Liverpool open to a loan, although Celta will have to accept the Reds demands that he play centre-back. That doesn’t seem to be in their thinking so there may need to be negotiations on that front.
