Nottingham Forest‘s Arnaud Kalimuendo could leave the Premier League side permanently to join Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.
The striker joined Nottingham Forest in August 2025, after an impressive three-year spell at Stade Rennais.
He failed to replicate his Ligue 1 form at the City Ground and managed two goals from 14 matches. Both came in the Europa League, while the Frenchman played 88 minutes from nine Premier League matches.
In January, the Reds let him join the Bundesliga side on loan with an option to buy set at €27m.
Kalimuendo managed six goals and an assist from 19 matches for the German club, who want to make his stay permanent. However, they are refusing to activate the purchase clause.
On May 2nd, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany of Eintracht Frankfurt seeking a discount from Vítor Pereira’s side. Later that month, their sporting director, Markus Krösche, opened talks with Nottingham Forest.
Talks ongoing with Nottingham Forest
Adi Hütter has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt, and the new manager wants three strikers for next season.
Jonathan Burkardt and Younes Ebnoutalib will be the two No.9s while the Bundesliga side want Arnaud Kalimuendo to be the third striker.
That’s according to Bild, who add the German club are still in talks with Nottingham Forest for the frontman. Vítor Pereira’s side have signalled their general willingness to sell the Frenchman.
Hütter’s side are keen to find out the fee the English club willing are to lower as they can’t afford a total package exceeding €20m.
Eintracht Frankfurt are hoping to finance the Kalimuendo deal by selling Elye Wahi and Noel Futkeu. Markus Krösche values Wahi at €20m and Futkeu at €10m.
If an agreement can’t be reached for the Nottingham Forest man, they will immediately look for another striker who can ‘provide an immediate boost’.

With a contract until 2030 at the City Ground, the Premier League side are in full control over his future. Transfermarkt value the Frenchman at €25m, and there’s no reason to sell him for less.
