Napoli have identified Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré as a transfer target for the winter market, according to Il Mattino, relayed by CalcioNapoli24.
The Serie A winners currently have André Zambo Anguissa in the holding midfield role. Their manager, Walter Mazzarri, won’t be able to rely upon him when he goes to represent Cameroon at the upcoming AFCON in January.
This has seen the Naples club look for options in the market and it’s their priority to bring in a cover for the former Fulham man next month. This is where the Leicester player would fit in.
Napoli have identified a few targets and it’s claimed the 24-year-old is on ‘top of their list’ for January.
The problem here is that Enzo Maresca’s side allowed the Frenchman to join Sevilla on a loan deal in the last window and he has been a regular for them, making 12 appearances in all competitions this season.
Therefore, if the Italian champions are keen on signing the Leicester owned player, Sevilla have to agree to cut short his temporary stay in January.
Soumaré and the Championship side would also have to come to an agreement for Napoli to secure his services, meaning there’s a long way to go before this deal potentially takes shape.
