Sampdoria are confident they can agree a deal to sign Palermo midfielder Robin Quaison, according to claims in the Italian media. The Swede will be out of contract with Palermo in the summer, and has also been linked with Birmingham City.
TMW have today reported Sampdoria are hoping to get a deal done to sign Quaison, with claims a move could happen in this transfer window. Quaison has just six months left on his current contract with Palermo, meaning the interested clubs have the chance to land him in the summer on a free transfer.
With Birmingham City and AS Roma both tracking the player it seems Sampdoria don’t want to risk losing out, and are prepared to take the midfielder before next week’s deadline.
Earlier in this window we covered claims from Italy that Birmingham City had made an offer to Quasion to join them in the summer. The Championship side are now able to speak to the Palermo star about a pre-contract agreement.
However, these latest reports suggesting Sampdoria could win the race to sign Quaison will come as a blow to Birmingham City.
