Valencia are ‘opening the door’ to a sale of midfielder André Almeida this summer, with Wolverhampton Wanderers interested in him.
That’s according to AS, who say the 24-year-old has suitors outside of Spain and Wolves are one of them.
The newspaper reports that Almeida is considering a change of scenery this summer and has offers on the table from Wolves and unnamed clubs in Italy and Germany.
He arrived at Valencia in an €8m deal in 2022 and has three years left on his contract but was out of the side last season due to an injury and is now considering a move.
Valencia are ‘opening the door’ to an exit and would be willing to sanction a deal worth €12-15m if it was presented to them.
Whether Wolves are willing to pay such a figure isn’t mentioned but that’s what Valencia are looking for if Almeida is to leave the Mestalla in the coming weeks.
For now, it seems Wolves have simply put an offer on the table to the player but there’s every chance they could get in touch with Valencia at some point soon.
On Monday, we covered reports that Jorge Mendes is managing this transfer, and presumably using his Wolves connections to encourage interest.
