Chelsea’s Benoît Badiashile has emerged as a transfer target for AC Milan, according to a report from Italy.
Stefano Pioli has been without several centre-backs due to injuries this season and his side didn’t strengthen the position in the winter market.
TV Play state the Serie A side are aiming to bring in a new centre-back in the summer and are targeting the Chelsea player.
The 22-year-old hasn’t managed to get regular game time at the west London club since joining them from AS Monaco in January 2023. He was forced to miss the start of this season due to an injury and is currently sidelined with another injury.
That hasn’t stopped Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada from setting their sights on the France international. The Rossoneri watched him closely before he even moved to Chelsea.
The report states Mauricio Pochettino seems to ‘have little faith’ in Badiashile, who was hardly relied upon by the manager when eligible for selection.
TV Play are of the belief a move to the San Siro could see the Blues defender ‘relaunch himself and become one of the most interesting’ players in the league.
His deal lasts until 2030 and there’s no mention of the fee or the formula considered by Milan to sign Badiashile.
