Earlier this week, claims from the UK press said Everton have identified Galatasaray’s Davinson Sánchez as a target to replace Jarrad Branthwaite, if the latter were to leave the Toffees.

Sabah have a report on Everton’s interest in Sánchez, and make no mention of the claims from the UK.

The Colombia international has seen his game time limited in recent weeks, restricting him to 229 minutes in the last eight games.

He arrived at the Istanbul club from Tottenham Hotspur last September and his deal lasts until 2027, with an option for another year.

The centre-back could return to the Premier League if Everton were to make an approach for him in the summer window.

Galatasaray are leading the table, three points ahead of second placed Fenerbahçe, and need to avoid a defeat in the last league tie against Antalyaspor on Sunday, to secure the title.

After the weekend’s fixture, it’s explained that the Galatasaray management are ‘expected to meet with Everton’ to discuss a potential deal for the 27-year-old.

Sabah say the Turkish club want €25m for the defender and it’s unlikely that Sean Dyche’s side are ready to meet their demand.
