Fulham’s interest in the signing of AS Roma’s Justin Kluivert is a rumour which gained some strength in the Italian media over the past few days.
This morning, newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport showed up to say the Craven Cottage side are still interested in signing the 23-year-old.
It was said Marco Silva and co. are ‘ready to offer’ €9.5m for the transfer.
Since his contract with Roma expires in 12 months, that’s a good reason for the Giallorossi to find a deal now instead of risk losing him for free next year.
It turns out that Fulham’s interest in Kluivert is also reported by Tutto Mercato Web journalist Marco Conterio today, with him claiming there are ‘new contacts’ between the clubs for the move.
However, the transfer formula is now said to be a little different.
This story says Roma are ‘open’ to a loan with a right to redemption, and that undoubtedly makes things more attractive for the Craven Cottage side, although you would think a short contract renewal might be needed first.
That says the Giallorossi would accept those conditions to ‘close the deal shortly’, so it does make it sound like we could get interesting news on that front very soon.
