Francisco Trincão was restricted to three league starts in his first season at Barcelona.

In search of regular playing time, the winger decided to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a loan deal in the summer. The Premier League side retain an option to buy him at the end of this campaign.

The 21-year-old is enjoying life in England, where he has made nine appearances for Wolves, which includes eight starts.

Over at the Camp Nou, the Catalan club sacked Ronald Koeman and appointed Xavi Hernández as his successor last week.

On Wednesday, Record in Portugal explained the new manager has requested the La Liga side make an effort to take Trincão back to the club in the winter market.

These claims are relayed in today’s edition of AS and the newspaper wastes no time in dismissing the report.

AS say that at the moment, Barcelona have ‘not even considered’ cutting short Trincão’s loan stay at Wolves.

That would appear to be that than, unless the idea pops up in the near future.
