Arsenal could allow Nuno Tavares to leave the Emirates this summer, just a year after they signed him from Benfica.

The 22-year-old and Kieran Tierney were the two left-backs at the north London club last season. Tavares seems to have failed to convince Mikel Arteta, which has seen the Gunners look for a new player in the same position during this window.

Recent reports have stated Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and Anderlecht’s Sergio Gómez are included in Arsenal’s target list.

After claims of the Gunners’ link emerged, Belgium’s La Dernière Heure got in touch with the Jupiler Pro League side for an update.

It’s claimed Anderlecht are ‘not aware’ of the potential Arsenal interest in the 21-year-old. In addition to this, ‘no offer has arrived’ at the Belgian club from Arteta’s side or another club so far.

The Spaniard is recovering from injury, which has forced him out of pre-season friendlies. La Dernière Heure add the fullback could miss the start of the season and this is ‘not going to favour’ a ‘big transfer’ in the ongoing window.

Operating on the left side of the back four, Gómez scored seven goals and registered 15 assists from 49 matches in all competitions last season.
