AC Milan seem ready to put up a big fight with Newcastle United to sign Serhou Guirassy.
As Calcio Mercato today writes about this chase, they claim the striker is the Rossoneri’s number one target for the January transfer window.
The outlet acknowledges that a few European sides, including Newcastle, are keen on the signing, but Milan have ‘no intention of giving up’ in this race and will move to get him signed in January.
Stuttgart, who signed him last summer, are not very keen on letting him go. The problem is that there’s a release clause in his contract which leaves the Bundesliga side with their hands tied.
Milan reportedly got in touch with Guirassy’s entourage and received the green light from him for a move to the San Siro. The issue now is his salary, as he’s requested €4m per season.
That figure is likely to be after tax.
Calcio Mercato says those are ‘top figures’ as the negotiations continue. The Rossoneri are said to be studying that possibility, and maybe now is the time for Newcastle to jump in and make their move.
