Eintracht Frankfurt have been told that they have ‘no chance’ of signing Victor Lindelöf from Manchester United as they eye replacements for Evan Ndicka.
That’s according to BILD, who say the Manchester United defender was on the German club’s list of options to replace the Frenchman.
They explain that Frankfurt have drawn up a list of options for central defence this summer as they need signings to replace Ndicka and Almamy Touré, both of whom have departed.
The Bundesliga side want as many as two signings to reinforce their options and Lindelöf was one of the options being looked at.
They already wanted to sign the defender from Manchester United in the January transfer window and a deal to make that happen was ‘already bagged’ and ready to go in that window.
However, it never happened because Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ‘put in his veto’ and stopped the deal from happening.
He wanted to Lindelöf as part of his squad for the remainder of this season and continued to use him, particularly after injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.
Now Frankfurt have ‘no chance’ of getting their man because Lindelöf is a regular player for Manchester United once again.
