Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Enso Gonzalez has had a quick rise through the club ranks.
Having joined the club from Libertad in 2023, he has played in the Premier League 2 games and even made his Premier League debut in the 2023/24 campaign.
The 19-year-old’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. The Wolverhampton man, as is reported by Corriere dello Sport, is being looked at by Lazio.
The Paraguayan is seen as a potential x-factor signing by the Roman side, who are planning to revamp their forward planning and recruitment and potentially copy Bayer Leverkusen’s model in the process.
He is seen as an investment for the future, with the Biancocelesti looking towards the teenager as someone who can make an impact now but also further progress.
Lazio CEO Claudio Lotito has been operating in ‘great secrecy’ to sign the teenager, who was close to joining Roma last summer but eventually chose to join Wolves.
As often happens with Lazio, this idea may collapse when they hear Wolves’ demands. The player’s recent serious knee injury is also a major factor, and means a move this summer would be off the table.
One for Lazio to ponder ahead of next year, although even then, given how the Italian club often has these ideas and drops them when money is mentioned, it’s unlikely to get off the ground.
