Celtic’s Rocco Vata has a deal expiring at the end of this season and Brendan Rodgers’ side risk seeing him leave Celtic Park as a free agent.
The 18-year-old’s contract situation at Celtic has drawn the attention of other clubs, including Bologna. On Wednesday, Quotidiano Sportivo reported the Serie A side have shown interest in him.
Gazzetta dello Sport believe Bologna could ‘accelerate’ their efforts to sign the Celtic player after Brendan Rodgers’s side showed willingness to negotiate his exit this month.
The teenager can also operate across the attacking positions and the newspaper says he has a ‘special flair’ for playing on the wings. This, coupled with the time left on his Celtic deal seem to have seen the Italian club take notice.
That’s according to 1000 Cuori Rossoblu, who explain that the track leading the Republic of Ireland U21 international to Bologna is ‘increasingly hot’. They are anticipating competition, which is why the Serie A side are ‘moving first’ to sign the Celtic youngster.
Even if Bologna were to secure Vata’s services for free next summer, 1000 Cuori Rossoblu say they will have to pay Brendan Rodgers’ side a compensation of €400,000 since the youngster is a product of Celtic’s academy.
