Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in Boca Juniors youngster Milton Pereyra, so much so than Napoli are moving to ensure they beat them to his signature.
That’s according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, via Area Napoli. They report that Napoli are moving to ensure they aren’t beaten to the punch by Brighton.
They report that director of football Giovanni Manna is monitoring several players to strengthen their squad. Negotiations are already underway for the Boca Juniors youngster.
He would initially be signed to strengthen Napoli’s primavera team. They say the 17-year-oldis ready to sign for the Italian champions on a free transfer.
Corriere del Mezzogiorno report that talks are underway for the youngster as Manna wants to ‘beat competition from Brighton. According to their information, Pereyra has chosen Napoli and the two parties are now working on securing a long-term deal.
Whether that means Brighton have stepped away, remains to be seen. They can certainly make strong arguments to Pereyra given their recent history of developing talent from South America. Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo are the obvious examples.
Perhaps they would be best making that point to Pereyra and his team, with Napoli seemingly out in front for him at this moment in time.
