Earlier on Thursday, we covered a story from France that OGC Nice were working on signing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Aït-Nouri.

The left-back has struggled to fully convince Julen Lopetegui, and an exit has been talked about for a while, with a move back to Ligue 1 a potential avenue to explore.

Well, Nice made their first move for the Wolves player, and Foot Mercato back it all up a bit later on in the day.

They state the player has ‘lost himself a bit’ at Molineux, and the time has come for him to try and kickstart his career once more to live up to the potential he once showed as a youngster.

The option of leaving Wolves to go to OGC Nice is considered ‘very serious’, and it’s added that ‘talks have taken place between the different parties these past few hours’.

Now, we have to wait and see whether or not a deal can be agreed on, and under which conditions.

Furthermore, the journalist who wrote the story for Foot Mercato, Santi Aouna, added on Twitter that a ‘meeting took place in Nice with the player’s entourage yesterday’.

On top of that, the Algeria international ‘wants to go’ to Nice, where he clearly feels he will get more game time than at Wolves.
