Torino may be regretting their decision to sign Nikola Vlasic on a permanent basis from West Ham United in the summer, with his second season nowhere near as good as the first.

That’s according to Torino Granata, who cover the player today and how he needs to impress in the last few games after a disappointing campaign.

They explain that the Croatian is among the most expensive players and best paid players in the current Torino squad, having been bought from West Ham for €9.5m in the summer and given a contract worth €1.7m net until 2027.

He’s yet to justify the money spent on him, though, with him only making the difference for Ivan Juric’s side ‘on rare occasions’ this season.

Juric has had the full confidence of his fellow Croatian but has not been able to reward it with performances on the pitch, with only three goals and two assists to his name this season.

He’s shown great professionalism and dedication in training and in games, but his performances are ‘not always so effective’ and that’s proving to be frustrating given the money the club spent on him.

Torino are still fighting for a place in Europe, and they need maximum contribution from him and rest of the squad, although he is seen as the one who can make the difference.

He’s yet to do that this season, though, and justify their decision to spend big to get him on a permanent basis from West Ham in the summer.
