For months, the Italian media have been reporting that Juventus want rid of Moise Kean and that could see them buy him from Everton a year early.
The forward returned to the Turin club last summer on a two year loan with a near automatic buying clause set for summer 2023. For them to part ways with him this summer would have meant using that clause early, giving Everton a boost with their finances.
However, it would appear preseason has changed everything.
Gazzetta dello Sport report Kean wants to save his Juventus career and has gone about things the right way. The 22-year-old arrived for preseason training weighing 6kg less than his previous level, and has thrown himself into the challenge.
His attitude and character have been praised, and it of course helps that he scored two goals against Barcelona in a recent friendly.
Still a youngster, Kean has versatility that would be useful to any squad, and plenty of opportunity to improve his level. Therefore, there’s a chance he could stay with Juventus, especially considering there’s a lack of buyers rushing forward.
Perhaps this is a time when the Turin club should look more at what they’ve got, rather than running after shiny new toys continually.
For Everton, a stay would likely mean they’d get their transfer money next year.
