Belgian side Union SG are eyeing a move for Brighton and Hove Albion youngster Facundo Buonanotte, once he completes his move to the South Coast.
That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who say Union ‘may hope’ for a deal for the 17-year-old after previous transfers between the two clubs.
Brighton completed a move for Buonanotte yesterday, with Rosario Central announcing they had come to an agreement after months of speculation about the youngster.
He is set to arrive in a €12m or so deal, but whether he will be immediately thrown into Roberto de Zerbi’s first-team squad or sent elsewhere to develop remains to be seen.
It’s not out of the question that he will remain at the club but Brighton have sent other youngsters, such as Moises Caicedo, Kacper Kozlowski and Simon Adingra out on loan first.
The latter pair both spent time at Union, who have acted as something of a sister club to Brighton after they were bought by Seagulls owner Tony Bloom in 2018.
That relationship has seen several players move between the clubs since and it ‘does not seem out of the question’ that Buonanotte could join the list.
The belief is that he would be ‘another solid reinforcement’ for the Belgian side, who would ‘let him mature’ at the club before returning to the Premier League to fight for a place.
As of yet it appears the decision has not been made but Union are certainly considering it and hoping Brighton are on the same wavelength.
