Italian side Venezia are eyeing up a deal for Manchester City youngster Erik Palmer-Brown this summer.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says that the 24-year-old is ‘in the orange and green team’s sights’ as they look to bolster their defence.

According to GDM’s information, Venezia have ‘good sensations’ to close the deal, even if they would like to finalise a deal for AC Milan’s Mattia Caldara first.

Palmer-Brown spent last season on loan with Austria Wien and before that Kortrijk and NAC Breda in Belgium and the Netherlands, respectively.

It’s believed that Italy ‘could be the launching pad’ for the USA defender, who needs regular playing time to not only kickstart his career but get back on the international scene, having managed just one appearance since his debut in 2018.

Manchester City’s stance on the matter isn’t mentioned, but it’s hard to see them resisting the option, with Palmer-Brown unlikely to be a player they’re desperate to keep around at this point.

Indeed, the fact Venezia have ‘good sensations’ suggests they have received positive messages from Manchester City in their initial overtures.
