Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon is the ‘chosen one’ for Levante as they look to add a centre back to their squad before the transfer window closes.

That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the Spurs man is being looked at as an alternative to Simon Deli in case there are any complications in the deal to sign him.

They report that Rodon is the ‘latest name’ to be added to Levante’s list of options, and they ‘have the option’ of signing the Welshman.

According to their information, the deal for Deli was ‘practically a done deal’, but Adana Demirspor have ‘put more complications’ in the negotiations, and so Levante have ‘activated the option’ of Rodon.

They want him as a reinforcement for manager Alessio Lisci, who made it clear he needed a new centre-back before the Christmas break.

Deli is the man they were targeting, but negotiations with Adana Demirspor have gotten complicated, and Levante have turned their attention elsewhere.

Tottenham are willing to sanction a deal as the centre-back has ‘barely played’ this season, with just 78 minutes in the Premier League to his name. His last appearance came on September 11th.

There is a feeling that a deal could be wrapped up quickly, and the whole operation is described as ‘hot and advanced’, which would suggest talks with Tottenham are already underway.

So much so that there is hope the deal will be done so he’s available for their clash against Getafe on February 4th.
