According to Gunes, Fenerbahce are keen to strengthen their squad by signing Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi.
The Turkish side have already brought in Mathias Zanka from Huddersfield Town this summer, but are keen to add more defenders to their squad, with the Arsenal player said to be an option.
Gunes claim a loan offer to Arsenal has been made for Mustafi and Fenerbahce are hoping they will be able to confirm his signing before the transfer window shuts in Turkey later this month.
Fener have also been linked with Manchester United’s Marcus Rojo in recent weeks.
Unai Emery partnered Calum Chambers with Sokratis against Newcastle United last weekend and considering David Luiz joined the Gunners from Chelsea on deadline day, the 27 year old could leave to get regular first-team football elsewhere.
Gunes say the German international is also considering his options as he doesn’t want to sit on the bench throughout this season.
The former Valencia player, who joined Arsenal in 2016, still has two years left on his current contract at the Emirates.
