Napoli have made a new offer to Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku valued at around €30m as they try to bring the saga to an end.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who reports that negotiations are now focused on a permanent deal plus bonuses.
Lukaku to Napoli has been ongoing for the majority of the summer, with Antonio Conte determined to reunite with the Belgian striker at his new club.
Negotiations between Napoli and Chelsea have proven to be a convoluted affair, though, with the Blues holding out for as much money as possible and the Italian side refusing to pay it.
Various ideas have been bounced around in the last few months, even potentially including Victor Osimhen, but never gotten to a point where everyone is happy.
A report this week made it clear that Napoli director of football Giovanni Manna was in London to talk to Chelsea about Lukaku and that’s now resulted in a new bid being made.
According to Di Marzio, Napoli have presented an offer of around €30m. They are fully focused on a permanent purchase plus bonuses and are waiting for a response from Chelsea.
Whether the Blues accept that bid remains to be seen, with that figure a little closer to what they’ve been looking for and surely tempting.
