Trabzonspor are chasing a deal for Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin and have made ‘important progress’ in their attempts to do so.
That’s according to 61 Saat, who say a deal for the Ivorian is expected to be finalised ‘in a short time’.
Gbamin currently finds himself out of the picture at Everton, with Frank Lampard electing not to use him so far this season, even when rotating his squad for the 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town in the League Cup.
It appears the midfielder is not in Lampard’s plans and Everton would prefer to move him on before the end of the window.
That could now be a possibility, with 61 Saat stating that Trabzonspor are ‘after’ the 26-year-old.
According to their information, the Turkish side have ‘started attempts’ with Everton to sign Gbamin and made an offer for a one-year loan deal.
Whether that is something Everton, who have just loaned out Dele Alli to Besiktas, are willing to accept isn’t mentioned.
What is stated is that the transfer is expected to be finalised ‘in a short time’ and the Turkish side have made ‘important progress’ on the deal.
That would suggest Everton are open to a deal and the two clubs are working to reach an agreement quickly, with the exit door at Goodison Park continuing to swing.
