Trabzonspor have made their first bid for Norwich City midfielder Marcelino Núñez, contacting the Canaries to start a potential transfer effort for him.
That’s according to Fotomaç, who say Trabzonspor have made their first bid for the 24-year-old, although there is no mention of the nature of that offer.
According to the outlet, Núñez is valued at €5m by Norwich at this moment in time but Trabzonspor intend to try and lower that fee if they can.
A first bid for him has already been made and contact with Norwich established, although whether they’re willing to let the Chilean go remains to be seen.
They have Núñez tied to a contract until 2026 so there’s no pressing need to sell or reduce his fee, and Fotomaç make it clear that Trabzonspor won’t be breaking the bank for the player.
According to them the plan is to reduce Norwich’s asking price and if they can’t do that, then they won’t be putting lots of money into the deal and will be looking at other options. Indeed, the belief is that they have plenty of alternatives.
That could be something of a negotiating tactic to try and work Norwich down, with their current asking price too high for the Turkish side’s tastes.
