Club make big return for Nottingham Forest player after summer attempt – Cooper won’t stand in his way

Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa is suddenly a part of a big race in Brazil.

In the past few weeks, we covered stories which said Internacional, São Paulo, Atlético Mineiro and Vasco da Gama have all been interested in the Brazilian about convincing him of a return to his home country.

Now, according to Globo Esporte, Flamengo are also keen on signing him from Nottingham Forest.

The Rio de Janeiro side had already been interested in the summer, and now made a new approach, as manager Tite, who recently took charge, wants the signing done.

Since Nottingham Forest signed him for free and currently have him loaned at Olympiakos, it’s said the Reds’ request ‘shouldn’t be high’.

What Flamengo need, just like other Brazilian clubs, is the green light from the player, who isn’t fully convinced he’s ready to leave European football so soon after arriving.

Brazilian clubs start their pre-season in the second week of January, and that’s why Scarpa’s decision is expected soon.

It seems he won’t be short of offers to choose from, and with Nottingham Forest not expected to make things difficult, it’s really up to him to take one of the bids.
