It’s again that time of the year for Galatasaray to be linked with Oumar Niasse. AmkSpor and Sporx have both claimed Galatasaray are targeting the Everton forward because the club’s leaders believe they’re short of options in the attacking areas.
We recently covered reports of interest from Besiktas, but the Black Eagles opted for Vincent Aboubakar from Porto. In that article we noted that Galatasaray had previously been linked with the Niasse, and it seems the Turkish giants again want to sign the Everton man after previous attempts in the last four transfer windows.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman recently stated the 26-year old needs to move if he wants to play football, but there’s been no serious suitors for the Toffees striker so far in this transfer window.
Galatasaray coach Jan-Olde Riekerink said in yesterday’s press conference: ”We may need one more striker but it depends on availability of players of course. We don’t have much to spend but if we find a player on our terms, we’ll do business.”
Jan-Olde Riekerink is pushing hard for a striker after Lukas Podolski’s injury setback, and Umut Bulut is very close to moving to Kayserispor.
Galatasaray are also targeting Benjamin Moukandjo from Lorient, but loaning Niasse will make more sense as the Senegal international previously played in the Turkish Super League.
Galatasaray are hoping they’ll get the Everton forward without a loan fee, and are willing to pay 100% of his wages.
