Atlético Madrid have ‘made a request’ to Tottenham for defender Sergio Reguilón, as they eye a replacement for Renan Lodi.
That’s according to Marca, who say there is a ‘good harmony’ between all parties, which could facilitate a deal.
Earlier today we covered a report that stated Atlético were at the front of the queue for Reguilón, who had been linked with a move to Lazio.
That has now fallen away, and the Spanish side are favourites for his signature, with Lodi set to join Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.
Marca explain that parallel to those negotiations, Atlético chief Andrea Berta is ‘keeping a front open’ to speed up the search for a replacement and Reguilón is current ‘the best positioned’ to be it.
Knowing that Tottenham are keen to ship the Spaniard out, Berta has been in touch with Spurs to ‘make a request’ for a loan deal.
They have found the Premier League side open to that and there is a ‘good harmony’ between all parties at this moment in time.
However, until Lodi’s move to Nottingham Forest is finalised, the operation will not be accelerated with Tottenham.
