Trabzonspor have ‘made an official offer’ for Southampton forward Mislav Oršić as he looks likely to leave the club in the summer.
That’s according to Gunebakis, who say the Turkish side could be interested in the Croatian after his disastrous spell in England after joining Southampton in January.
Oršić moved to St Mary’s as part of their efforts to improve their forward line during the winter transfer window, arriving in a €5.75m deal from Dinamo Zagreb after five years with the club.
The move to England has not worked out in any way, shape or form, though, with Oršić managing just five appearances in all competitions so far and just one of those, a six-minute appearance in the defeat Aston Vila in January, coming in the Premier League.
Indeed, he has spent most of his time with Southampton out of the picture and forgotten about, only making the squad in the Premier League four times.
A departure in the summer is extremely likely and Trabzonspor have made an offer for the 30-year-old as they plan for next season.
They would like to sign the Croatian on loan with an option to buy and presented this idea to Southampton and the player.
The Saints response isn’t mentioned but Oršić is said to be ‘warmly interested’ in the move and has continued with negotiations to try and make it happen. He also has interest from Galatasaray if he’s keen on making Turkey his next destination.
That will very much depend on Southampton, who would presumably prefer to try and get some of their money back before sanctioning any loan deals.
