Feyenoord are ‘looking to extend’ Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson’s stay at the club next season after his loan expires in the summer.

That’s according to 1908.nl, who say the Dutch club have ‘made Nelson an offer’ to stay in the Netherlands next year.

Nelson joined Feyenoord on loan in the summer transfer window when it was made clear there was no place for him at Arsenal this season.

He endured something of a difficult start to life at the club but the 22-year-old has bounced back in the second half of the campaign to be something of a key player.

His loan comes to an end in the summer, at which point Arsenal will need to decide whether to keep him or sort out another deal.

If they decide another loan deal is the right option, it seems Feyenoord are willing to provide it, with 1908 reporting that they’ve ‘recently made the player’ on offer to play there for at least another year.

They also say that Arsenal have ‘expressed their confidence’ in the winger, suggesting they might want him back next year. If not, it would also suggest they won’t be looking at a sale.

Nelson is reportedly set to make a decision about his future at the end of the season, too, so we’ll have to wait until then to see what happens.

Feyenoord, though, are happy to take him back next season at least, meaning that is one option on the table.
