With Pol Lirola seemingly on his way out of Marseille following the arrival of Igor Tudor, the Ligue 1 side are looking to replace him.
Their latest target to do so, according to well sourced local newspaper La Provence, is Manchester City’s Issa Kaboré.
The defender was sent on loan last season to Troyes, where he did well, and was the star of the show for Burkina Faso during the Africa Cup of Nations.
That has seen the Manchester City player’s stock rise a bit, and Marseille have made him ‘their priority’ for the role.
In fact, talks are going so well that there’s a belief ‘the operation could be finalised by this weekend’.
First, however, Marseille have to finalise the departure of Lirola before completing this deal, with the formula of it remaining a mystery to La Provence to date.
This means it could either be a loan or a transfer for the Manchester City man, and only time will tell which one it ends up being.
