Napoli have ‘made an exception’ for Everton, conceding their desire to include a purchase obligation in the loan deal for Jesper Lindstrom.

That’s according to Tutto Napoli, relaying information from Corriere del Mezzogiorno, who state that the winger ‘will most likely join Everton’ this summer.

A deal between Everton and Napoli for Lindstrom has been steadily progressing this week after Antonio Conte appeared to decide that the winger was not a part of his plans moving forwards.

That’s seen a deal quickly agreed between the two clubs, with Everton pushing to loan the winger for this season and have an option to buy him at the end of it.

Some reports had claimed that Napoli wanted that clause to be an obligation, but Corriere del Mezzogiorno report that they have ‘made an exception’ for the Toffees.

This exception has been made to help ‘accelerate’ the process and get Lindstrom out, presumably to open up space on the wage budget.

Either way, Lindstrom is now close to joining Everton after Napoli took a step towards them and accepted a formula that they usually wouldn’t.

Thus, it is likely that when Lindstrom leaves, he will be joining Everton on loan with the right to buy, even if the Italians had initially wanted an obligation. The two clubs are now in agreement and now it is up to the player to agree on his salary.

There’s no indication there’ll be any issues on that front, though, and instead it seems Everton will be getting their man, and on a deal that is far more favourable to them than Napoli too.
