Sporting are interested in Watford youngster Yaser Asprilla, according to claims from Portugal.

Mais Futebol today reveals that the Lions made an approach looking for more information on the 20-year-old.

It’s said Sporting’s contact was made last week, and during the talks, Watford communicated that the player is worth between €10m and €12m.

For now, there’s no information on whether Sporting are willing to pay that amount, or even if they’d try some alternative ways to get the transfer done.

Watford spent €3m to sign Asprilla from Envigado back in January 2022, with him spending six more months at the Colombian side.

Featuring for the Hornets this season, he has four goals and four assists in 25 appearances, taking part in nearly all of their Championship games so far.

With the youngster getting that much playing time, it seems unlikely that Watford would accept loaning him out, even if that sounds like a more feasible deal for the Portuguese side.

We shall now see whether Sporting will advance with an offer in the coming weeks.
