PSV Eindhoven ‘would love’ to sign Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg this summer and are willing to wait to do so.
That’s according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who reports that the Dutch side can wait until their opportunity to get the defender is available.
Van den Berg is back among the Liverpool squad this summer after another loan spell away from the club last season, but whether he remains at Anfield is up for debate.
Several reports have made it clear that he would like to move on to ensure he can get first team football somewhere else, believing that may not be the case even after Joel Matip’s departure.
PSV have been named among his suitors but are yet to get anywhere near Liverpool’s €20m asking price, which they and Van den Berg consider disproportionately high.
Thus, the player is yet to move and has instead now travelled with Liverpool for their pre-season tour of the United States.
This has put a potential exit on hold for the time being, something it seems PSV aren’t particularly bothered by at this point. That’s if Elfrink is to be believed anyway, with him providing the latest update via X.
“PSV target Sepp van den Berg is on a training camp in the United States with Liverpool,” he said.
“A transfer to PSV in the very short term is therefore not possible yet. The Eindhoven team would love to sign him later in this transfer period.”
