There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Galatasaray have reacted to interest from other clubs by offering their forward Yunus Akgün a new improved contract.

The Turkey international has been linked with a move to Everton in recent months, along with other clubs around Europe.

A Spor today report on the latest developments regarding the future of the former Leicester City player and they say Galatasaray are looking to tie him down.

It’s claimed the Super Lig leaders have offered Akgün €2m a season, which will bring him to line with other high-profile players at the club.

The Turkish media outlet also say Galatasaray doesn’t want to lose him on the cheap as his current contract has a buy out clause of €11m.

Cimbom reportedly would only be looking for bids in the region of €20m if they did sell him this summer, so they are keen to remove this clause.

According to A Spor, Akgün is still being tracked by other clubs following claims in January Everton made an attempt to sign him. We covered reports the Premier League side wanted to loan the attacker, with an option to purchase him this summer.

However, there are no reports if the Toffees intend to go back in for him during the next window. The 24-year-old is contracted to Gala until June 2026.
