According to a claim in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor are closing in on a deal for Watford defender Wesley Hoedt.
The Dutchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Super Lig club in the past week following reports of talks between the two clubs.
Fotomac report there’s been significant progress in negotiations between Watford and Trabzonspor. It was previously reported the Championship side weren’t keen on the central defender leaving this summer, but with less than 12 months left on his contract they are under pressure to sell.
There’s been reports in the past few days that Hoedt has agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor, but talks were ongoing over the transfer fee. The Super Lig club were looking for Watford to reduce their asking price to get the deal over the line.
It’s claimed Trabzonspor are now waiting on the English club with regards to accepting their offer but with the player keen on the move it just seems a matter of time before he arrives in Trabzon.
Turkey’s Sports Digitale report the initial offer was €1.25m and a higher one is set to be sent to Watford.
Hoedt made 48 appearances for the Hornets last season, scoring three goals.
