Last Wednesday, we covered the quotes from Konstantinos Manolas’ agent saying his client wouldn’t be agreeing a contract extension with AS Roma. In an article from Calcio Mercato, they said Chelsea and Arsenal were both attentive to the situation.
Now TuttoMercatoWeb has a story saying Manolas seems to be drifting further away from a stay at Roma because of the interest from Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
The London club is said to be pressing for a deal, and Roma are even looking for a replacement for the defender already, who would be Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal, who is already interesting AC Milan.
Although Manolas’ contract with Roma only expires in 2019, the Italian media treat his refusal to sign an extension as a sign of his departure this summer. TuttoMercatoWeb believe the following week could be decisive in the player’s future.
Manolas has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League, and the right now the links lean more toward Chelsea than anyone else in England.
The right footed defender is 25 years of age, and may well fancy a chance in the Premier League.
