A week ago German magazine SportBild reported that interest in Sead Kolasinac is growing. The left sided player has a contract with Schalke running out in June, and can therefore speak to clubs about a free transfer.

SportBild explained that Everton had offered a package of up to €10m per season, including bonuses. Schalke had offered €4.5m a season, and it was claimed other clubs had proposed deals in excess of €6m.

The message was that Everton’s €10m was higher than the rest. However, this week SportBild report AC Milan have offered more than €10m a season, thanks to their new Chinese owners. However, what SportBild don’t point out is that Milan’s takeover hasn’t actually gone through yet and whilst it’s thought to be happening imminently, there have been setbacks before.

Everton will still be hopeful, should their interest be as serious as claimed, and Ronald Koeman will now need to go into battle for the player. Kolasinac is 23 years of age and whilst he’s best known as a left back, he’s spent this season in a more attacking wing role for Schalke.

Arsenal are also said to be interested.
