Earlier we covered a report from Catalan newspaper Sport which seemed to make it apparent that the hold up on Federico Fazio moving to Espanyol was the fault of the buying team.
Not only do they not want to pay a transfer fee, Espanyol aren’t keen on a loan fee either and require Tottenham to pay a chunk of the Argentine’s wages. The other way around things is for Fazio to take a big pay cut, but then still there’s not a great deal in this for Tottenham.
The other Catalan sport newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, report that Espanyol are looking at other targets, compiling a list of alternatives. Tottenham’s permanent transfer demands are said to be ‘prohibitive to directly impossible’, but once again there’s no figure mentioned.
Espanyol are still working on a loan for Fazio but due to the complications (largely them not wanting to pay hardly anything), they’re getting some other names together, just in case.
