According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are looking to step up their pursuit for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Super Lig side have been linked with the Argentina international in the past few days as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in an experienced goalkeeper this summer.
Fener are parting ways with Dominik Livakovic at the end of the season and Mourinho wants to bring in a top-class goalkeeper to replace the Croatian.
Fotomac today report on the latest developments regarding Fenerbahce’s interest in the Aston Villa keeper and they say an offer is being lined up.
It’s claimed the Istanbul side will look to tempt Villa with a €20m bid and that they are prepared to pay Martinez €6m a season.
Despite Fenerbahce’s reported interest in the Villa No.1 it does seem an ambitious plan to sign the Argentine during the next transfer window.
Again, this season Martinez has been a key player for the Premier League side and the 32-year-old will still be regarded as being in his peak years for a goalkeeper.
Martinez has made 50 appearances in this campaign and is contracted to the English side until June 2029.
