Argentine club Mitre de Pérez have filed a court case against Rosario Central following Facundo Buonanotte’s move to Brighton in January.
That’s according to La Capital, who cover the situation today and claims that Central are yet to pay their dues to their Argentine counterparts.
Buonanotte moved to Brighton in a €6m deal at the beginning of January after an agreement was struck in November, following months of speculation about his future after Brighton had come close to signing him last summer.
He’s been a regular part of Roberto de Zerbi’s squad since, making three appearances in the Premier League and another in the FA Cup.
La Capital explain that Mitre de Pérez are claiming ‘a percentage’ that is owed to them and part of the deal that took him to Central from them as a youngster.
They are yet to receive anything for his transfer to Brighton, though, with it explained that Buonanotte moved, Central ‘received money’ but Mitre were ‘left to wait for its due’.
“The agreement for Facu, who left at the age of 12, was proposed by Central. And they offered a 20%,” said the owner of the institution, Aníbal Ferrari.
“They didn’t contact us and that’s why with the legal department through letters we asked for information. We didn’t get any answers. This will be long.
“In the agreement we are entitled to 20%, but there is also the training rights. We have the best intentions and we are making a claim for something that corresponds to us, nothing more.”
