We all know people don’t read newspapers as they use to, and when they do, not all of them get to the end of the story.

If you take a look at the Italian media, you’ll see a lot of stories saying that Chelsea are about to bid €80m for Milan Skriniar, all crediting the claims to Tuttosport.

Well, we’ve taken a look at the Turin newspaper, and it turns out that their story is interesting, but the big news isn’t the Blues’ bid.

Tuttosport are actually taking claims from England to report the bid.

What they’ve really learned from Inter Milan is that the Italian club still haven’t received an offer for the player.

Now in case it gets to Inter, this sounds like a good opportunity to sell the player. Because even though they were thinking of giving him a pay raise and consequently extend Skriniar’s contract, which expires in 2022, the Nerazzurri would rather take all that money.

But once again: Chelsea haven’t made a bid for the player yet, and all the claims of a future attempt are coming from the English press.

So Inter may accept Chelsea’s offer if it arrives, but there’s a good chance such a thing doesn’t actually exist.
