On Tuesday, Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb featured a story saying Arsenal were very close to finding an agreement for Grêmio midfielder Bitello.
It was claimed the Gunners were getting a ‘slight discount’ to get the transfer done for €8m, and the move would be concluded this week.
It turned out that the Brazilian media never really confirmed the deal, and Zero Hora now comes up to dismiss it.
According to their story, the Grêmio leaders claim not to have received anything official arriving from Arsenal. That’s backed up by Bitello’s entourage, who are not aware of the bid.
The outlet admits that the Gunners’ interest ‘isn’t new’, as Edu Gaspar and the board believe him to be a ‘relatively cheap option’ in the market.
Still, it’s guaranteed there’s no offer made by Arsenal or by other interested clubs such as Monaco.
It’s also claimed that Grêmio’s request for the transfer continues to be of €10m, and that’d be for 70% of the player’s rights.
Even though Bitello’s agent Maickel Portela is in Europe, Zero Hora says he’s taking care of other business.
