The Spanish media now writes about Sevilla’s interest in Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.
Outlet Fichajes claims that the La Liga side ‘keep a watchful eye’ on the youngster, who they’ve been following for a long time.
Sevilla’s first attempt to sign Hannibal reportedly took place last year, with contacts made with his entourage, and Manchester United presenting ‘firm opposition’ to it.
The bigger argument the Spanish club would now have is his contract with the Red Devils, which expires in 2024, with United having an option for an extra year.
Hannibal is currently said to be focused on his work at Manchester United, and that also means he’s not opening talks for a renewal for a few months.
Sevilla will then use a ‘seduction strategy’ to stay as an option for him, and will continue having hope as long as he doesn’t sign an extension.
Hannibal has six appearances for Manchester United so far, and three of them were made this season. He played in the Red Devils’ last three games, and seems to be getting some confidence from Erik ten Hag.
Sevilla don’t seem to have much chance here.
