Belgian side Club Brugge are keeping an eye on Arsenal striker Mike Biereth as they seek a replacement for Igor Thiago.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Biereth is one of the names being considered as a replacement for Thiago, who is leaving to join Brentford.
Biereth has spent the season on loan at Sturm Graz and impressed, bagging 14 goals and nine assists in 37 games this season and even impressing in the Conference League with three goals in four games.
Sturm Graz are keen to keep him on a permanent basis but, so far, an agreement has not been struck with Arsenal for the 21-year-old and he will be returning to the Emirates at this moment in time.
It’s so far unclear what Arsenal’s plans for him are, although all indications have been that he is not a part of their first team plans moving forwards.
Club Brugge may want to take advantage of that, with Tavolieri reporting that they ‘keep an eye’ on his situation this summer.
They’ve watched the Arsenal man multiple times during his loan spell at Sturm Graz but have not made an offer for him at this point.
They need to sign a striker, though, as Igor Thiago has already agreed a deal to join Brentford and will be moving there this summer. That’ll leave a hole needing to be filled and Biereth could be the one to do it.
