During the summer transfer window, Southampton loaned Paul Onuachu to Trabzonspor.

The clubs did not agree on a purchase clause back then, leaving a potential negotiation for the end of the season, and that may now be a reason for regret from the Turkish side.

Outlet Gazete Damga today highlights Onuachu’s season at Trabzonspor, as he has ‘received full marks’ during his start there, as he has seven goals and one assist in ten appearances.

Southampton are certainly watching the situation and it’s claimed that the St Mary’s side are unlikely to make it easy when it comes to a permanent transfer next summer.

It’s said the fee is ‘expected to be high’, especially if the Saints managed to get their promotion to the Premier League.

With Trabzonspor expecting a difficult situation ‘until the last moment’, they may be forced to give up on the purchase and go after other names.

Onuachu was bought by Southampton for €18m back in January 2023. Right now, he’s valued by Transfermarkt at €13m, and it’s still unclear how much the Saints would demand for a sale.
