Villarreal remain keen to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Yerson Mosquera on a permanent basis but know that a deal won’t be easy for him.
That’s according to El Periódico Mediterráneo, who say the club’s sporting management are working overtime to get the defender back after his successful loan spell last season.
They newspaper explains that CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles, alongside director of football Miguel Ángel Tena, is working to seal transfers that have already been approved by manager Marcelino.
One of their main objectives is to shore up their defence and the ‘main wish’ on that front is to sign Mosquera from Wolves on a permanent basis.
He was with the club on loan last season and made a positive impression, with the club valuing his abilities and the fact he is ‘young (and) versatile’.
Villarreal therefore want him permanently, but a move is ‘not an easy mission’ to complete as he has a contract with Wolves until 2026.
They, therefore, have no reason to sell on the cheap and know he did well at the club and how strong their desire to get him back is.
They will certainly want to get back the €5.2m they paid originally to sign him and presumably want more on top of that, making matters difficult for Villarreal right now. They’re working to get him back from Wolves, nonetheless.
