Real Betis have ‘not lost contact’ with Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso since his previous spell at the club and want him back this summer.
That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who say that Spurs are yet to decide on whether to permanently sell the midfielder or sanction another loan deal.
They explain that Lo Celso ‘fits in’ with what Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini wants in his squad and the club are keen on the opportunity of bringing him back.
They’ve not lost contact with the player since he departed for Tottenham, via employees at the club who ‘maintain an extraordinary relationship’ with the Argentine and even supported him when he was ruled out of the World Cup.
They watched him on loan at Villarreal last season and know that Tottenham are ‘considering’ either selling him or letting him leave on loan again this summer.
Betis are ‘keeping an eye’ on the second option if that becomes available whether they can make room in their wage margins to add him to the squad.
Lo Celso would be keen on the switch and his ‘desire is to return’ to the club where he enjoyed the best period of his career by far if it is available to him.
That has been tried in previous summers but ‘with less substance than now’ and while the operation would not be a simple or quick one for Betis or Tottenham, it is a potential deal to keep an eye on.
