Unlike a lot of clubs around Europe, Celtic have already started their 2019-20 campaign, with Champions League qualification games kicking off their new season.
Already seeing off FK Sarajevo and Kalju Nömme, the Scottish Premiership champions will face CFR Cluj in the next round, in which Kristoffer Ajer will be expected to play.
We mention the Norway international because according to TV2 in his home country, the 21-year-old is attracting interest from Milan in Italy.
The outlet state the Serie A club have been following the defender ‘for a long time’ and have been present to watch him in action during Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers.
Doubts have immediately been placed on the feasibility of this potential transfer, however, as TV2 wonder whether Milan ‘will be able to afford’ the player, as Neil Lennon’s side ‘should value the Norwegian very highly’.
Arriving at Parkhead in July 2016 from Start, the versatile defender committed to the club for a further four years by extending his contract in May 2018.
He is now linked to Celtic until 2022, which could prove problematic for Milan.
