Spanish side Sevilla could be ready to compete with Eintracht Frankfurt for West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer, who is increasingly likely to leave in the January transfer window.
That’s according to the BILD podcast Bayern Insider, relayed by Fussball Transfers, who say Sevilla are ‘also interested’ in working with Kehrer.
Reports over the last week or so have indicated that Kehrer could be on his way out of West Ham in the coming weeks, with Eintracht Frankfurt already believed to be making moves to get him.
All indications are that Kehrer would like to move on after falling down the pecking order this season and now starting a single Premier League game to date.
Bayern Insider now report that the German side are ‘facing competition’ for the West Ham man as Sevilla are also interested in a potential deal.
They claim that the La Liga side are keen on the ‘defensive ace’ but how concrete their efforts to get him so far have been ‘remains unclear’.
They are seemingly in the mix, though, with a potential loan deal on the cards as the defender is ‘paid handsomely’ by West Ham and that makes a permanent deal difficult.
That, at least, is the case for Frankfurt but given the state of Sevilla’s finances and their struggles, it’s unlikely they’d have the money for a full transfer either.
